About The Teacher
Azhar Shakeel

Born & brought up in the traditional family of Music, Azhar, even
as toddler, showed sure signs of prodigious talents in Music. Inheriting his devotion toward music from his father the great Tabla Exponent of Delhi Gharana Ustad Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and his Grandfather Ustad Usman Khan Sahib another renowned vocalist Of his time, he started his initial Violin training at the early age of 5 years.
He had the unique privilege of being tutored by the exponents of Delhi Gharana like Ustad Zafar Ahmed Khan (Sitarist), Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan(Vocalist), Ustad Saeed Zafar Khan(Sitarist) & recently Ustad Afzaal Zahoor Ahmed Khan(Violinist).
At the age of 14, Azhar staged Violin solo and accompaniments programs on the stages. He has given a number of programs in India and abroad. He had accompanied many maestros like Padmashree Shovana Narayan (Kathak Dancer), Guru Rajender Ganganl (Kathak Dancer), some Odissi dancers and other well-known classical artists across country.
Pursuing his graduation from Delhi University presently, he is also working as a violin accompanist in Padma Shree Shovana Narayan school of Music “Asavari”.
